The swimming pool Taking a dip in the swimming pool at the Résidence Palace, with its beautiful, harmoniously colourful interior set off by flashes of gold, is an experience quite unlike visiting a 'normal' swimming pool. This was where the bourgeoisie used to go swimming. Today the pool is used by school children and public employees. Incidentally, did you know that Brussels has a number of extremely stylish old swimming pools? The local swimming pools in the Brussels communes of Saint-Gilles and Saint-Josse and the Neptunium baths in Schaerbeek are other good, albeit less luxurious examples.
